esthersmile asked:
A friend and I are going to stay in Barcelona on a Friday and Saturday night in January. I need to find a nice hotel that is quite near the main tourist attractions + city centre that doesn’t cost more than £200 in total for the two nights. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Barcelona is kind of spread out, but it has an excellent metro system, so getting around is not a problem. You could try using, they also do hotels.
You want to go to a hostalleria they sound like one of our type hostells but there really like a small hotel.Dont stay in and around the Ramblas.
The Barcelona tourist info office is at the top of Les Ramblas, right in the heart of the city and quite lovely with loads of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions close by. Just call in and see them, there are dozens of hotels of all classes within 15 minutes walk, take your pick, they will even ring and book for you if you ask. Accommodation is plentiful so need to pre-book.
Thats how we did it
Try the following:
Avenida Palace
U232 Hotel
Villa Emilia
Ayre Hotel Gran Vía
Hotel Amrey Diagonal
Fashion House
Hotel Jazz
Abba Ramblas
In any case, please note that you’ll have to amend the dates to the time of your actual stay.
You’ll find hostels, 5-star hotels, and cheap hotels here. And you’ll get the best price:
Lyon Hotel Barcelona
Barcelona Hotels
If you haven’t booked a hotel checkout the H10 hotel sites as they sometimes have good offers on rooms. Close to the diagonal as well. …

Be warned there are pickpockets in Barcelona. I’m not telling you to put you off!!! You need to be vigilant, watch your bags at the airport, and when your out at night
I’ve been to Barcelona many times & it’s a beautiful city and it is great place for a break.
There are many things to do there

These sites should help you find something to do there. Remember they speak both Spanish and Catalan there
Good luck!
be careful of Moroccans pick pockets. They are young Moroccans that will try to befriend you and chat to you but they are actually robbing you at the same time.
barcelona has changed alot, there are 1000’s of pakistani illegals and legals living there now and some of the areas are looking a bit run down now. There is a strange obsession with them to build Turkish Donner Kebab places everywhere and young people come to eat the crap at all hours.
In can be quite intimidating for a young lady always being starred at by large groups of pakistani men (who are NEVER with women) so you may want to be careful where you stay.
Overall barcelona is nice, have fun and check tripadvisor.
